| Lisa
joined us in September 2009 as our new Artistic Director. She has
worked extensively as an all-round entertainer since leaving drama
college (many years ago!).
She started out as a singer/ dancer in summer revue shows in and
around the UK. From there she caught the travel bug and fronted
lavish production shows as a singer in Tenerife, Basle, Zurich,
Dubai and even Japan! She then toured with a huge cast “The
best of Broadway” European Tour where she performed a number
of roles including Norma (Sunset Boulevard), Mary (Jesus Christ,
Superstar), Evita Peron (Evita), and Sheila (Hair). She then set
sail and sang on the Royal Majesty Cruises NCL lines.
Lisa has also been heavily involved in theatre, including roles
in Fame, A Midsummer Night’s Dream The Musical Tour, MacBeth,
Alice in Wonderland the Musical, Romeo and Juliet, Corsican Brothers
and The Telephone Girl. In pantomimes, Lisa has performed in Jack
and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella
and Robin Hood.
Lisa has turned her hand to TV and was a presenter on “TV
Portsmouth” for Children’s Story Time, Lunch Time Live
and Chatterbox. She also starred in a two part drama “Sirens”
as Detective Constable Sandra Smith.
After 17 years in the business Lisa decided to put her career on
hold and start a family. She moved up to Wales and had two beautiful
children, starring in her biggest role ever-being a mum!
Since then Lisa has continued acting as a hobby, playing Vikki Nicolls
in The Full Monty at the Gateway Theatre in Chester and the wicked
queen in Snow White in our very own Stiwt Theatre. She started teaching
drama, dance and music at theatre schools in and around Chester.
It was whilst teaching at these schools that Lisa met Chris Dukes.
When Chris stepped down as Theatr Ifanc’s Artistic Director
the role was offered to Lisa.
Lisa is passing on her skills to our youngsters through improvisation,
interpretation in music, dance, drama and by having fun! She is
looking forward to putting on shows during 2010 that will bring
out the children’s true talent. Lisa is very passionate about
her profession and believes that you can never stop learning. Always
have faith and believe in yourself and you will get to where you
want to be!
